Medion has introduced a new 14-inch laptop. It is a relatively compact notebook with an OLED screen, which has a pretty high resolution and refresh rate. An Intel chipset is onboard as well.

The German brand Medion has added a new laptop to its lineup, which is called the Signium 14 S1 and is now orderable from the company’s official online store for €799. This configuration is powered by a different processor compared to the model variant that will hit Aldi’s online shop on May 28 for €699.

The SKU offered by Medion sports the Intel Core 5 120U with a total of ten cores. This Raptor Lake CPU was introduced in early 2024 and promises decent performance, although it is not a high-end chipset. The laptop is further equipped with 16GB DDR4 RAM, while the PCIe SSD offers a capacity of 512GB.

With a weight of 2.2 lbs and dimensions of 12.2 x 8.6 x 0.78 inches, it is a quite portable notebook that could be described as an alternative to Apple’s MacBook Air. The Signium 14 S1’s highlight is arguably the 14-inch display, which has a resolution of 2880 x 1800 pixels, brightness of 400 nits and refresh rate of 120Hz. This is an OLED panel that fully covers the sRGB color space and should offer a much higher contrast ratio than the IPS display found inside the aforementioned MacBook Air.

In terms of connectivity, one of the two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C ports supports both video output and power delivery. Additionally, there is one USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A and one USB 2.0 Type-A port. A 3.5mm audio jack and HDMI 1.4 are also available. Lastly, the battery has a capacity of 55Wh, and WiFi and Bluetooth are built in, as is a Full-HD infrared webcam.
