Galaxy Tab 4 Education comes with a protective case and Corning Gorilla Glass to protect the device from the daily hardships of a classroom.

Samsung today took the wraps off the Galaxy Tab 4 Education, a 10.1" tablet that resembles the Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 but is better equipped for the hands of young children. The tablet is designed to meet the needs of K-12 classrooms and features integration with Google Play for Education to offer an appealing package.

For starters, an unnamed 1.2GHz Qualcomm CPU and Android 4.4 power the 10.1" tablet, which also features a WXGA 1280x800 pixel resolution. The Tab 4 Education also comes with 1.5GB of RAM and 16GB of storage, though support for up to a 64GB microSD card provides ample space for textbooks and apps. Samsung is also including Wi-Fi, HDMI and NFC along with a 6,800 mAh battery that's good for 10 hours.

Samsung's latest also comes with certain features that protect it from the elements, as Corning Gorilla Glass and a rugged plastic case should increase its longevity. Unfortunately the tablet does have a premium price tag, and it is available immediately for $369.99 with Google's educational web console tacking on another $30 per tablet.
