The Samsung X50 1730 is quite easy for a 15 inch notebook (2,6kg) and only 2,6 cm slim. Nice features are the SuperSilentMode and the FingerPrint-reader.
This is not a test report, but a small presentation of the this laptop type.

At the moment Pentium M by far is the most frequently used processor in laptops. Compared with other processor types it is very fast per megahertz and does not need much energy (see processor comparison). ATI Mobility Radeon X700:
The video card RADEON X300 is positioned in the performance class 2 (1=best, 6=worst) of our video card comparison. These cards can be compared with the desktop grafic cards with the same name. Newest games should run with full details well. Samsung X50 1730 is a mobile computer for gamers with this grafics card.

There are hardly any laptops with a better video card; in our list of tests only the Nexoc Odin E803 (Clevo D900T barebone).

ATI Mobility Radeon X600 is positioned in the performance class 3. So it is quite capable to represent newest games well, but not with all details.

15.4"  widescreen displays are a very frequently used format for notebooks and represents an average size for laptop screens.
The notebook can be used at the same time with its integrated TFT-display and with an external screen.

Samsung X50 1730 is quite light-weight with its weight of 2,4 kg. None of our tested mobile computers with 15,4 inch display has less weight. Of course much slighter are the 12 inch subnotebooks.

The enter key is smaller than with most keyboards and is not positioned at the right border of the keyboard (wrong clicks). The arrow keys are not separated from the rest of the keyboard and small (unfavorable for players).
There are 3 special function keys, which are free to be programmed and furthermore a Wireless-LAN-start-key. It is useful that the touchpad can be deactivated. This prevents from unwished movement inputs while using the keyboard.

2 USB-connections are at the right side and one at the backside. Regrettably there are not much connections behind, where they would not hinder anyone.

The ventilator exit is at the rear side left. This position is not optimal for left-handed people with mouse. The SuperSilent Mode allows to reduce the processor frequency by pushing a button. So the ventilator inactivates itself. That reduces noise, heat and less energy is spent.
