78.9% Samsung Galaxy J4 Plus (2018) Smartphone Review | Notebookcheck
If you are looking for a budget smartphone with a large display, dual SIM and LTE functionality, then you should look no further than the Galaxy J4 Plus (2018). The device is well-designed, offers solid performance, and it is identical, except for a few details, to the more expensive Galaxy J6 Plus.

At Rs 10,990, Samsung Galaxy J4+ seems overpriced and doesn’t really have anything unique to offer. It also doesn’t really outshine Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 which delivers far better performance and experience for almost similar price.

Samsung Galaxy J4+, Galaxy J6+ review: Budget phones at not so budget prices
Source: India Today English Archive.org version
The Galaxy J4+ and Galaxy J6+ offer appealing designs and a good battery life, which are the only things that really work in their favour, but not by much. At these prices, there are a number of options out there that offer even better designs as well as a more rounded performance like the Nokia 5.1 Plus and 6.1 Plus. You also have the Realme 2 Pro, Motorola One Power, Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro and so on that offer better a processor and cameras compared to the Snapdragon 450-powered Galaxy J4+ and Galaxy J6+. The new Galaxy J phones are average at best, and they would have worked better at attracting consumers if the prices matched their budget hardware.

Samsung is clearly relying a lot on its brand value and software features to sell these phones. They might have some appeal in terms of physical appearance and software features, but their performance is just not competitive at all as compared to other smartphones in the respective price segments.

60% Samsung Galaxy J4+ Review: Good battery, camera are the highlights
Source: The Indian Express English Archive.org version
Samsung Galaxy J4+ has a good battery and primary camera performance. However, that is where the best features of this device end. Performance is okay, but, if you are looking to do some serious gaming, there are better devices in the market you can get. Samsung will have a tough time competing with other smartphones like the Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1, Nokia 5.1 Plus, and Xiaomi’s Redmi 6 Pro given the price tag, and the gaming performance.

Model: The Samsung Galaxy J4+ (SM-J415) is a budget smartphone under the J series of the company. The Galaxy J4+ features luxurious styling that is comfortable to the touch. It also features a rounded-edge design that grips well in the hand like its more expensive A and S series siblings. It also features a premium glossy finish and comes in a series of trendy color options, including pink, gold and black for that added touch of style. For display, the Galaxy J4+ features an immersive 6.0-inch (15.26 cm) True HD+ Infinity display, which offers a vibrant viewing experience. Users can stream their favorite shows on the True HD+ Infinity Display, all backed by its 18.5:9 display ratio. Additionally, with its lightweight and slim design, users can watch their favorite content more comfortably. As for a camera, the Galaxy J4+ features a high-resolution rear camera of 13 MP with an aperture of F1.9 and a 5 MP front camera, which Galaxy J4+ inspires greater confidence when capturing photos. Its floating shutter button simplifies shooting by letting users release the shutter from anywhere on the screen. Thanks to its three-level front LED flash, a user can take selfies that really shine. Besides that, it comes with various camera features and creative filters to liven up what a user captured without glare. Galaxy J4+ features an expansive 6.0” HD+ Infinity Display with a resolution of 720 x 1,480 pixels that makes it ideal for multitasking activities, including gaming, texting and web browsing. Its App Pair functionality allows users to make appointments while messaging and checking maps simultaneously.

In terms of software, it runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with some convenient mobile security features. Face recognition technology grants mobile access for the user alone to ensure their personal data doesn't fall into the wrong hands. Besides that, Samsung's Secure Folder is a powerful security solution that lets users create private and encrypted space to store content such as photos, documents and voice recording files under an additional layer of protection. The Samsung Galaxy J4+ is powered by a Qualcomm MSM8917 Snapdragon 425 (28 nm) CPU processor with 32 GB storage and 2 GB RAM. It is considered an entry-level hardware specification, but it is as expected from the price tag. The Galaxy J4+ comes with a 3,300 mAh battery without any fast charging support. However, it can get through the day easily after being fully charged. As a conclusion, the Samsung Galaxy J4+ is a budget smartphone which offers a good display with decent battery life. For users who like Samsung’s features, do not mind about the lower performance and are on a budget, the Galaxy J4+ is a suitable choice to fit such requirements.

6.00":

It is a very small display format for smartphones. You should by no means be mis-sighted and you will generally see very little on the screen and only have a small resolution available. In return, the device should be very small and handy.
