Whilst it might not be 4G enabled, for a lot of people this will not be a deal-breaker and you get to appreciate the batter battery life this brings you. A big thanks to Prestigio who provided us with a loan device to make this review, and an even bigger thank you that they have also allowed us to give away one of these devices here at CoolSmartPhone to a lucky reader.

We’re satisfied with the Prestigio MultiPhone 5550, its low price is not the only factor. The camera and the screen performed very well, especially when it comes to screen flickering, level of brightness, color reproduction and video recording. The battery life and the performance represented by MediaTek MT6582 are not so impressive, but they are also not flaws per se. And, of course, there is the dual SIM support and many useful apps preloaded. In other words, MultiPone 5550 is a lucrative phablet.

Model: Prestigio is a brand that is a pretty new player on the market and many would no doubt have been in the dark about their existence. In actual fact, Prestigio is a brand of smartphones, which the European company ASBISC Enterprises developed in 2013 with the help of Intel. Their Multiphone 5550 DUO is an extremely affordable phone with mid-range specs and a sturdy built. It comes in three colors: Navy Blue, Gunmetal and Graphite Black. The screen measures 5.5 inches and features a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels and is covered with a layer of Gorilla Glass 3, fully laminated. The resolution, though moderate, is perfectly suitable for everyday usage.
There is a MediaTek MTK6582 quad core CPU with a speed of 1.3 GHz coupled with 1 GB of RAM. It has almost 4 GB of internal storage but this can be expanded with an SD card. The OS is an Android 4.4 KitKat and Prestigio has designed their system to include a huge clock face in the centre of the opening screen, giving it a rather steampunk like appeal. There are two cameras included with the phone, a front 2 MP one and a rear 13 MP camera, which really makes this phone worth it. Overall, the Prestigio Multiphone 5550 DUO is a practical and economical choice.

5.50":
It is a very small display format for smartphones. You should by no means be mis-sighted and you will generally see very little on the screen and only have a small resolution available. In return, the device should be very small and handy.
» To find out how fine a display is, see our DPI List.77%: This rating is not earth-shattering. This rating must actually be seen as average, since there are about as many devices with worse ratings as better ones. A purchase recommendation can only be seen with a lot of goodwill, unless it is about websites that generally rate strictly.
