Possible iPad 2 listing spotted on Amazon Germany

Teaser
Newest iPad could possibly include Thunderbolt port and 1.2 GHz processor

With the iPad 2 event scheduled for later today, more and more rumors and images have been popping up all over the world. The first rumor comes courtesy of a possible mockup that has been spotted in China. Chinese website, DGtle, managed to get their hands on the mockup and the pictures they’ve shown appear to be in line with earlier rumors.

According to the pictures, the iPad 2 is slimmer than the original iPad, features a bigger speaker, rear and front-facing cameras and an almost completely flat back contrary to the first iPad. There was also no SD card in sight, even though earlier rumors hinted at it being available.

As if that wasn’t enough, Amazon Germany apparently listed the device on their website with more detailed specs. And although the listing was quickly taken down, yourappledaily.net managed to grab a screenshot in time before it disappeared. According to the screenshot, the new iPad should include a 9.7” display, a 1.2 GHz processor, Wi-Fi, a camera, Bluetooth and should ship March 17th (roughly 2 weeks after today’s event). Last but not least, the screenshot shows the iPad 2 featuring a Thunderbolt port; something that we hadn’t heard about in previous leaks. However, the Thunderbolt does make sense as it would allow communication with the new line of MacBook Pros at speeds that can reach up to 10 Gbps.

Typical of any Apple products, the rumors keep coming in even on the day of announcement. Thankfully, the event is only a couple hours away (10AM PST, 1PM EST) and we can finally put months of speculation to rest. And while it seems almost all the specs have been leaked; knowing Apple, they might have something else hidden up their sleeves.
