Sony’s sudden announcement of Concord’s shutdown on September 6 has sparked a frantic race among players to secure the game’s elusive Platinum trophy. Desperate players are exploiting Rivalry mode by jumping off cliffs in-game to quickly earn experience points. With limited time left, the Platinum trophy could become one of the rarest in PlayStation history.

With Concord's sudden shutdown looming on September 6, players are racing to earn the game’s Platinum trophy before it disappears. The first-person hero shooter from Sony-owned Firewalk Studios launched just two weeks ago, but quickly flopped, peaking at only 697 concurrent players on Steam. At the time of writing this article, there were merely 43 players grinding in the game.

In a desperate bid, players are exploiting the Rivalry mode by intentionally losing matches to grind experience points faster. In Rivalry mode, two five-player teams battle across best-of-seven rounds. Players start a Rivalry match, and then throw themselves off the map - it's that simple. This means an instant win for the opposing team. Repeating this process (countless times it seems) will help them reach reputation level 100 required for the Platinum trophy.

The game - which was reportedly developed over 8 years - sold only 25,000 copies. Refunds have been promised for all players. Despite their relentless efforts, many players doubt they'll complete the grind before the game goes offline. Concord’s Platinum trophy might become one of the rarest in PlayStation history, considering the game lasted all of two weeks. Whether the trophy will have any value is unknown.

In the meanwhile, check out this new mock-up render of the PlayStation 5 Pro.
