Oppo has unveiled its two new midrange handsets, the Oppo R7 and R7 Plus. According to early rumours, the R7 was supposed to feature bezel-less design. However, as it turned out, the device comes with a „normal” front panel. The R7 Plus, on the other hand, does have pretty thin frames around the display, making it quite appealing visually.
The Oppo R7 comes with a 5-inch display and the R7 Plus with a 6-inch one – both feature FullHD resolution. Both smartphones are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 SoC supported by 3 GB of RAM. Also the cameras are the same: 13 MP main with f/2.2 lens and 8 MP, f/2.4 front ones for selfies.
This is where the similarities end. The R7 Plus is equipped with a fingerprint scanner on the back while the R7 isn’t. The bigger phone’s battery capacity is 4100 mAh, while the smaller – only 2320 mAh. Both devices support Oppo's VOOC fast-charging technology, which should allow the batteries to charge up to 75% in only about 30 minutes.
Oppo R7 and Oppo R7 Plus are now available in China. The former is priced at around $400, while the latter at $480. Debut in other markets has been set for June.
