New Tesla EV discount introduced for active US military members, their spouses, and veterans
Tesla has announced a new discount for US military members on the 4th of July. Termed the “Military Purchase Program” on the company’s website, the $1,000 discount can be used by “military veterans, retirees, active duty members and their spouses” with no cap on the number of cars purchased. The price cut is pre-tax and applies to both cash and lease/loan-based purchases.
To make use of the $1,000 savings, customers will have to verify through ID.me before placing the order for their preferred EV.
Unfortunately, people who are in the market for a new Cybertruck or a used Tesla will be disappointed, as Tesla’s military discount only applies to new Model S, Model X, Model Y, and Model 3 EVs.
Tesla is not alone in offering specialized discounts for the U.S. military, as other carmakers like Ford and Toyota also have similar offers. For instance, Ford and Toyota both offer a cashback of $500 for US military personnel.
