Tesla has its most advanced paint shop over at its Gigafactory in Berlin that is a master of multi-layered colors, and its new Model Y concoction is called Marine Blue.
With the introduction of the new hue, Tesla now sells the Model Y in three different shades of blue, the Glacier Blue from Giga Shanghai, Deep Blue Metallic in the US, and the new, darker Marine Blue from Giga Berlin.
The new Model Y color is only available for the Premium and Performance trims as a paid €1,500 option, though, while the base Standard trim that just launched in Europe still comes in three colors.
Tesla priced the Model Y Standard in Europe for €39.990, or under the psychological 40,000 barrier, just as it launched in the US. The price difference between the Standard and the next Premium RWD trim is double the one in the US, though, as the former Long Range RWD version costs €50.990 there.
Besides being ten instead of five grand cheaper in Europe, the new Model Y Standard trim comes with full-fledged Autopilot capabilities, including Autosteer there. In the US, it only gets the basic traffic-aware Cruise Control option and not the whole Autopilot experience.
Unfortunately, Tesla doesn't have permission to use FSD in Europe just yet, so it is probably trying to compensate by including Autopilot with the Model Y Standard price like it does for the higher trims.
