Mysterious Dell XPS 14 Ultrabook pops up on Amazon

Teaser
Dell XPS 14 might be one of the best Ultrabooks to compete with Asus Zenbook Prime.

Dell has introduced a 14-inch Ultrabook called Dell XPS 14 which popped up on Amazon. This super thin laptop is featured with third generation Ivy Bridge Intel Core i5 processor, Nvidia graphics, a HD+ display, a backlight keyboard and 12 hours battery backup. But they are yet to declare the model of the graphics card. Surely this would give a tough competition to its competitors.

Earlier in 2010, Dell attempted to breathe a new life into the XPS laptop line, but has to stop its production. It was a 1.4 inch laptop which never looked like an Ultrabook.

The new model XPS14-9092sLV is only 0.71 inches thick and weighs 3 pounds (1.36kg). This model of Dell is thinner than XPS 14z which measures 1 inch in thickness and weighs about 4 pounds (1.81kg).

Dell XPS 14 and XPS 14z has left out the optical drive which made this models light in weight and thinner.

Some of the features were upgraded by Amazon for this ultrabook. The resolution of the HD+ Gorilla Glass display is 1600 x 900 pixels and the display of old XPS 14 model was 1366 x 768 pixels. The battery backup will also be more than the previous model which had only 5.5 hours.

But a major drawback will be its 500GB and 5400RPM hard drive instead of the latest solid state drive. But as it has some of the best possible features, so we can expect a SSD boot drive with the Ultrabook in due course of time.

This Ultrabook will be alluring to the customers and might be the best competitor to the Asus Zenbook Prime.

The price of the XPS 14 is listed as $1199. 99 on Amazon but it is still not available in the market. And this may not be in the market till first week of June.
