The Motorola Xoom was the first tablet to sport Honeycomb or Android 3.0 when it was launched back in Feb this year. But it did not have a working MicroSD card reader then. Even a 3.1 update in May did not solve it. Finally we might have a non US update that will fix this problem – as reported by Netbooknews.
“SD Card activation” with Honeycomb 3.1 on non-US devices is expected to make the microSD card reader workable again. Europe will get it sometimes next month.
Availability dates of the fix in US are not confirmed yet, but a Twitter update from Motorola says Google is refining the SD card solution for U.S.-based Motorola XOOM devices, with a promise of more info shortly.
