Moto X Play gets Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow

Motorola Moto X Play Android smartphone gets 6.0.1 Marshmallow update
Motorola Moto X Play
Although this handset got Android 6.0 back in December, it has just received Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow as well.

The 5.5-inch Motorola Moto X Play was released back in August 2015, when it shipped loaded with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. Back in December, Canadian users of this handset received Android 6.0 Marshmallow, while the units on the Indian market got updated one month later. Now, both markets receive Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow at the same time.

Since Moto X Play already got Marshmallow, the new update is quite small. Since Android 6.0 Marshmallow already comes with Google Now on Tap and Doze mode, there is not much left for the new firmware. However, Moto X Play users can now enjoy the new emoji pack, as well as the benefits delivered by the March security patch.

In addition to the above, this 388 MB update also comes with a few minor changes from Motorola - new sound for the camera shutter and the ability to launch the main camera app by double pressing the power button, next to various stability improvements.
