Teaser
Tablets are slowly replacing a lot of our habits in our daily routine

A new research from GfK MRI’s iPanel shows that a majority of Tablet users who participate in video games report said that they don’t use much of video game consoles or a handheld video game as they own a tablet.

This even continues as 44% of tablet owners prefer ebooks on their tablets, 42% owners read newspapers on their tablets and 41% have used less of their desktops or laptops after owning a Tablet.

According to Risa Becker, VP, Research at GfK MRI, as majority of game-playing Tablet owners report that they are using their game console less often, does not mean that they are playing less games, but they are moving their gaming from other devices to the Tablet. The “Games” is the most popular type of application among the owners, and 69% of them used a Games application in the last 30 days. Other popular applications of the users accounted as Social Networking, Weather, Music and Entertainment.

Some other applications used by more than 25% of the users in their tablets are reading Newspaper or Magazine, Shopping, Navigation and Banking.

With all these figures we can say that the Tablets are really becoming very popular and are taking place of many other needs in our daily routine. The Tablets might affect a lot of business from game console to Newspapers. They may lead to a different world in the near future where it will have a major contribution.
