ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3670 vs AMD Radeon 630 vs AMD Radeon 625

ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3670

► remove from comparison ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3670

The AMD ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3670 is a laptop graphics card and technically a higher clocked HD 3650 with clock rates nearly as high as the old 2600 XT. Compared to it, the HD 3650 should be cooler (55nm process) and features DirectX 10.1 support.

The 3D performance of the HD 3670 is on average a bit better than the old Nvidia GeForce 8600M GT. Therefore, old DirectX 9 games should be fully playable with mostly high details. Modern demanding games are only playable with minimum-modest detail settings and resolutions (e.g. Crysis 1).

120 Stream processors (48 5-dimensional Shader units) manage the tasks of the Shader and Pixel pipelines. Due to the 5-dimensional structure, the amount of shaders can not be directly compared to Nvidia graphics cards.

Due to Avivo HD video engine the graphic card can support the processor with several HD video operations. VC-1 and H.264 can be fully decoded using the graphics card. MPEG-1, MPEG-2 and DivX can be accelerated using Motion Compensation and IDCT using the UVD on the graphics card.

Compared to the desktop HD 3670, the Mobility HD 3670 has a slower clock rate and should perform more like a desktop HD 3650.

AMD Radeon 630

► remove from comparison

The Radeon 630 is a dedicated entry-level graphics card for laptops that was released in 2019. AMD reveals that the chip features eight compute units based on the GCN architecture and 4 GB GDDR5 64-bit graphics memory. The chip is most likely based on the Polaris architecture and therefore a rebrand of the old Radeon RX 540 / RX 540X.

The gaming performance is positioned in the entry level and therefore only a few modern games are playable fluently. See our RX 540 page for game benchmarks.

AMD Radeon 625

► remove from comparison

The Radeon 620 is a dedicated entry-level graphics card for laptops that was released in 2019. According to AMD, the GPU offers 6 compute units (CUs = 384 shaders) and 4 GB GDDR5 (64 bit bus) graphics memory (max). The chip is most likely not based on the current Navi or even older Polaris architecture, but still based on the the old Mars chip from the Radeon HD 8590M / M260 / M340 / M440 and Radeon 530.

Therefore, the gaming performance is positioned in the absolute entry level (see the similar Radeon 530). Only a few modern games like Dirt Rally 2.0 should run fluently in low settings.
