MWC 2012 | MasterImage 3D showing off glass-free 3D on Qualcomm tablet
Qualcomm the chip supplier has displayed the MasterImage 3D which is a Glasses-free technology, at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. This device which is also called as the MDP Tablet 3D Edition is equipped with a Snapdragon S4 processor.
This tablet sports a latest Glasses-Free Technology which is also called the Cell-Matrix Parallax Barrier Technology. According to Raj Talluri, Vice President of product management for Qualcomm, the demand for the 3D glassed-free for the home is increasing dramatically.
He also adds that the Advanced Snapdragon processors have made it possible for the MasterImage 3D’s technology to come to life, showing OEMs, mobile operators and the content community, that compelling technologies are available now.
At the event Qualcomm will be displaying the next generation 10.1inch tablets which will be supporting 3D videos and games. The 3D version of the MDP tablet will be powered by Ice Cream Sandwich. They will also be demonstrating the various contents on the tablet which includes 3D programming from 3net; a joint venture from Discovery, Sony, IMAX 3D and 3D animated comics.
This technology mainly aims to provide a brighter image, with a wider viewing angle. Now we can say that the future is already on the way of providing a new dimension of entertainment media. This 3D tablets will be a giant step towards the fantasized future, from what we have now in the present.
