Archive.org versionAfter the unexpected success of the X600, MSI is back with a new version of its ultra-thin laptop, this time with an AMD CPU and running Windows 7: the MSI X-Slim X610 is here, and to mark the occasion, it's the first to include AMD's 'Vision' platform. The single-core processor at the heart of the MSI X-Slim X610 didn't win us over, and it performs far less well than the X600, while still sharing its predecessor's main faults: a poor quality display and loud fan. It's still an attractive option despite all this: there's a large screen for enjoying HD video and some relatively-undemanding video games.

MSI: Micro-Star International (MSI) was founded in 1986 in Taiwan. MSI is especially known as a manufacturer of motherboards and graphics cards for PCs, but also offers computer accessories, complete systems, motherboards, graphics cards, laptops, desktop PCs, monitors and other components. However, the Microstar brand name in Germany belongs to the Medion company. MSI is known for its gaming products and has developed a wide range of gaming laptops and desktop PCs. The company is also active in workstations, servers and industrial automation. MSI has offices in North America, Europe, Asia and Australia.
Only some 3D games with very low demands are playable with these cards.
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4330: Lower clocked Radeon 4530 with a current consumption of 7 Watt (according to AMD). Supports DirectX 10.1 and Avivo HD for HD video acceleration.

AMD Athlon Neo:
MV-40: Slow single core processor for small and thin laptops. A bit faster than Atom based systems but the power consumption is also higher.
