While the Lenovo Yoga S940 does achieve its goal of being ultraslim and portable, it lacks in a lot of key areas. The display is excellent; however, the integrated UHD graphics from Intel can’t power it when doing graphically intensive tasks. We would’ve liked to see an NVIDIA MX 250 to help, especially for editing and rendering workloads. It does come with the Glance privacy app with face unlock, but it lacks a more secure fingerprint reader for cold boots. The lack of ports is also a hassle, as we had to scour the office for an adapter. The keyboard and touchpad are also just average. For a premium product priced at PHP 115,995, we expected a lot more. That being said, it does have its place in the market. The display is top-notch and can be used by photographers for on-site viewing and editing.

The Lenovo Yoga S940 is a top contender for the most stylish laptop, but it's held back by poor battery life and a disappointing keyboard. Still, if you buy this laptop for short productivity sessions, you won’t be left wanting – and it will definitely turn heads with its design and AI tricks.

The Lenovo Yoga S940 is a great ultra-premium lightweight laptop that money can buy today. It looks and feels premium, is extremely light to carry around, has a great display and a reliably long one-day battery life. The performance is fast for everyday computing tasks with the top-of-the-line Intel processors. And at Rs 1.4 lakhs, it seems impressive as an overall package.

Lenovo has done well with the design of the Yoga S940, even though it isn't as attention-grabbing as Dell's XPS 13 or HP's Spectre x360 13. This is a device that prioritises style and portability, sacrificing performance a little bit compared to similarly priced but bulkier devices. As people who need to travel a lot and work in some cramped spaces will agree, every little bit of convenience counts.

The Lenovo IdeaPad S940 offers great performance and a fantastic, bright 4K display. Light and thin, it’s a great laptop for those on the go as it won’t take up much space or add much weight to your bag. There’s no doubt it’s worthy of a Top Pick of 2019 Award here at Techaeris.

The IdeaPad S940 is a premium ultraportable with what Lenovo calls a Contour Display—curved screen bezels that make the laptop appear even slimmer and more compact than it is.

For those willing to pay a premium for portability — and there are a lot of such people including me — this is a good alternative from Lenovo. The form factor is not just thin, but also stylish. There is enough power to complete daily tasks without any issues.

The Lenovo Yoga S940 feels like a compelling package with great specifications at a reasonable price. The only issue we have at the outset is how long Lenovo has taken following its January global launch to bring it to India – we already know that this model will be updated with Intel's upcoming 10th Gen 10nm ‘Ice Lake' CPUs before the end of this year, under the Project Athena initiative. We can expect significantly better performance, responsiveness, and battery life when that happens at some point in the next few months.

The Yoga S940 is set apart from the crowd by its display. The contoured glass not only makes the display a pleasure to look at and use but also makes it unique in the space, allowing the already tiny bezels to appear even smaller.

That aside, the laptop is focusing heavily on USB-C connectors with two Thunderbolt 3 and one USB-C port that doubles as a charging port. Elsewhere, there's just one USB 3.1 (Gen 1) Type-A port and a 3.5mm audio jack.

The Lenovo S940 shows great progression for the Yoga laptop series, shrinking the bezel to new lows and therefore offering a small footprint and lightweight design. Plus it offers a better typing experience than the new MacBook Air.

Lenovo: Lenovo ("Le" from English legend, novo (Latin) for new) was founded in 1984 as a Chinese computer trading company. As of 2004, the company was the largest laptop manufacturer in China and, after acquiring IBM's PC division in 2005, the fourth largest in the world. In addition to desktops and notebooks, the company manufactures monitors, projectors, servers, etc, and specializes in developing, manufacturing and marketing consumer electronics, personal computers, software, enterprise solutions and related services.
In 2016, the company ranked first in the world in computer sales. It still held it in 2023 with about 23% global market share. Important product lines are Thinkpad, Legion and Ideapad.
In 2011, it acquired a majority stake in Medion AG, a European computer hardware manufacturer. In 2014, Motorola Mobility was purchased, which gave Lenovo a boost in the smartphone market.
Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.
Intel UHD Graphics 620: Integrated GPU (GT2, 24 EUs) found on some Kaby-Lake-Refresh CPU models (15 W ULV series). Technically identical to the previous Kaby-Lake GPU called HD Graphics 620.
» Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Graphics Cards and the corresponding Benchmark List.
Intel Core i7: The Intel Core i7 for laptops is based on the LG1156 Core i5/i7 CPU for desktops. The base clock speed of the CPUs is relatively low, but because of a huge Turbo mode, the cores can dynamically overclock to up to 3.2 GHz (920XM). Therefore, the CPU can be as fast as high clocked dual-core CPUs (using single threaded applications) but still offer the advantage of 4 cores. Because of the large TDP of 45 W / 55 W, the CPU is only intended for large laptops.
i7-8565U: Whiskey Lake based low power quad-core processor (technically identical to Kaby Lake but produced in a further improved 14nm++ process). The four cores are clocked between 1.8 and 4.6 GHz (Turbo Boost) and support HyperThreading.

14.00:
14 inch display size represents a middle ground between the small subnotebook formats and the screens of the standard 15 inch laptops.
The reason for the popularity of mid-sized displays is that this size is reasonably easy on the eyes, provides good resolutions with usable detail sizes, yet does not consume too much power and the devices can still be reasonably compact.
In the past, 14-inch devices were very rare, but now they are the standard for laptops after the 15-inchers.
