This 5.5-inch affordable tablet gets an update that brings features like Google Now on Tap and Doze mode to the sub-$200 territory.

This will probably get more than a few Galaxy Note 3 fans angry, but the affordable Lenovo K3 Note just got Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. On the other hand, Samsung's phablet is still not there yet. Lenovo launched the K3 Note primarily targeting India, but the handset is also available in other Asian markets.

The Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update for the Lenovo K3 Note has a very long build number, namely K50a40_S121_150813_ROW_TO_K50a40_S322_160314_ROW. Same as similar updates that target other handsets, its size is somewhere around 1.6 GB. The list of new features should be well-known by now - Google Now on Tap, Doze mode, new emojis, enhanced app permissions management, multiple fixes and tweaks, as well as the security updates of the month.

Lenovo K3 Note arrived on the market about a year ago, loaded with Android 5.0.2 Lollipop. Its specs include a full HD 5.5-inch IPS display, a MediaTek MT6752 processor, 2 GB RAM and 16 GB internal storage, as well as a 2900 mAh battery.
