Model: Classy, robust and professional; the Lenovo Ideapad G4030 is a portable business laptop with style. The design is pretty subdue as expected from a discreet professional device. Lines are kept clean with the entire laptop finished in dark grey. I/O ports are kept towards either sides of the chassis to ensure easy access and there is the bottom-rounded tile style keyboard used by most Ideapad and ThinkPad laptops. The Lenovo Ideapad G4030 weighs in at 2.2 kg and has a solid chassis making it a perfect on-the-go companion. Its 14 inch HD LED-backlit high-brightness LCD features good viewing angles and contrast even in bright daylight.
The Windows 8.1 device comes with an Intel N2940 quad core processor clocked at 1.83 GHz, 2 GB DDR3 RAM, an Intel HD Graphics GPU and a 500 GB HDD as internal storage. Audio quality is decent with the built-in stereo speakers providing high-definition audio. On-board the Lenovo Ideapad G4030 is an integrated DVD-Super Multi Double-Layer drive, a webcam, a card reader, two USB 2.0 ports, a USB 3.0 port and an HDMI out. One area which could be improved is battery life. The Lenovo Ideapad G4030 comes with a 4-cell lithium ion battery allowing only up to 4 hours of usage time.

There are hardly any tablets in this display size range anymore. For subnotebooks, on the other hand, it is the standard format.
The advantage of subnotebooks is that the entire laptop can be small and therefore easily portable. The smaller display also has the advantage of requiring less power, which further improves battery life and thus mobility. The disadvantage is that reading texts is more strenuous on the eyes. High resolutions are more likely to be found in standard laptops.
