This upcoming family of smartphones will include the L40, L70 and L90, but all details about them will be revealed in about a week at MWC.

LG announced the L Series II handsets last year shortly before the Mobile World Congress opened its gates and this year they did the same thing, but this time with the LG L Series III. An official press release is only available in Korean for the time being and it contains most details of the L40, L70 and L90 smartphones from this family of Android handsets for budget-conscious users.

These are the main specs of the three handsets mentioned above, all of which come loaded with Android 4.4 KitKat:

  • LG L40: 3.5-inch display with 320X480 pixels, dual-core 1.2 GHz processor, 512 MB of memory and 4 GB of internal storage, only a 3 MP rear-facing camera and two removable battery choices - 1,700 mAh and 1,540 mAh
  • LG L70: 4.5-inch IPS display with 400X800 pixels, dual-core 1.2 GHz processor, 1 GB of memory and 4 GB of internal storage, front VGA and 5 MP or 8 MP rear-facing cameras, as well as a removable 2,100 mAh battery
  • LG L90: 4.7-inch IPS display with 540x960 pixels, quad-core 1.2 GHz processor, 1 GB of memory and 8 GB of internal storage, front 1.3 MP and 8 MP rear-facing cameras, removable 2,540 mAh battery

All three handsets mentioned above feature 3G connectivity and will be available in black and white. Their owners will also be able to purchase an optional Quick Window cover, which is available for the first time for a non-flagship LG handset. Pricing and availability will be announced at the LG event to be held at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
