There is no denying that a vast number of productivity tools are easily available on the market, most of them from lesser-known brands that aim to simplify a very specific workload. Folks who enjoyed the secondary screens on laptops such as the ZenBook Duo, and wish for a similar setup for their desktops may now have a viable option - the KeyGo keyboard.
Boasting a 12.8-inch IPS display with touch support, the KeyGo keyboard can be used with Windows, MacOS, Android, and Linux-based systems. Essentially, the creators behind the KeyGo aimed to integrate a 1920 x 720 display above a typical membrane keyboard, allowing productivity improvements to customers who can benefit from having a secondary landscape display below their primary monitor. Portability is not an issue, courtesy of an 180° hinge that allows the KeyGo to fold like a laptop.
The crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter appears to have been quite successful, having raised over $90,000 from 345 backers as of this writing, with 7 days still left to go. This is not particularly surprising, since there are a plethora of workflows that can definitely benefit from what the KeyGo offers. Made with anodized aluminum, the keyboard is visually pleasing as well, although the lack of mechanical switches will definitely hold back a good chunk of potential customers. RGB lighting is also on offer, for those wondering. Other details are as follows:
- 300 nits peak brightness
- 8000:1 contrast ratio
- 72% coverage of NTSC color gamut
Pricing and Shipping
However, things start getting a little ridiculous when we turn our attention to the keyboard's pricing. Although backers can enjoy a 50% discount, the KeyGo keyboard appears to carry a price tag of $538. The price could definitely be a red herring though, enticing potential customers to pull the trigger out of a fear of missing out. The early bird pricing of $249 is a lot more reasonable, but interested folks are certainly recommended to be mindful of the risks associated with backing crowdfunding projects. Shipping is expected to commence in November 2025.
