InMobi reports shows Tablet ad impressions up by 771%

Tablet ad impressions were up by 771 percent globally in 2011, as revealed by a research by InMobi

With a recent release from InMobi’s latest Mobile Market review 2011, there is an incredible increase in mobile ad impressions during the last year. The figures are really large all over the world. The Global Smartphone impressions were up by 488 percent and in North America alone 625 percent.

The Tablet ad impressions showed a further growth to 771 percent globally which is about 11.2 billion and is still growing.

Among the various platforms Android continues to be the most popular with 21 percent and next is iOS at 17 percent globally. However in North America, the release of the iPad 2 and iPhone 4S has pushed iOS ahead of Android at 33.1 percent, while Android has 32.5 percent.

According to James Lamberti, VP global research & marketing at InMobi, the mobile technologies have empowered the development of media and advertising market and pushed consumer’s acceptance of media consumption through emerging channels.

Now we may see a strong on board with this trend and we may expect to see strong innovations in this space as the consumers really spend more time on these mobile devices than those in PC’s.
