Hypershell has teased the X Ultra, its latest hip exoskeleton slated for launch on September 9, 2025, promising stronger mobility assistance. Building on its 2024 models, the X Ultra is expected to deliver enhanced torque and power for hiking and walking.

Hypershell has teased its upcoming exoskeleton, the X Ultra. Scant details were provided other than its tagline, which says "Smarter. Better. Faster. Stronger." Its launch is scheduled for September 9, 2025.

Exoskeletons are mechanical devices that can be worn to help users walk, lift, climb, and conduct strenuous physical activities better. Passive exoskeletons often use elastic bands to provide assistance, such as lifting boxes of farm produce. Active or powered exoskeletons often use motors to provide assistance, even allowing the paralyzed to walk again.

Hypershell launched a series of powered exoskeletons in 2024, including the Carbon X sold here on Amazon. These hip exoskeletons transfer forces between the upper leg and hip, providing helpful assistance lifting the leg, especially when climbing mountains or hiking steep terrain. Knee exoskeletons like the upcoming Dnsys Z1 transfer forces around the knee while helping bend the leg.

The company's current model delivers 800 watts of power and 32 Nm of torque, so it is likely the new model will ship with even more powerful motors. Its operating temperature range of -20° C to 60° C clearly means it can't be used reliably while climbing Mt. Everest, which has peak averages of -36° C with absolute temperatures as low as -60° C.
