Xunwei VP reveals no current plans for Huawei to launch an iPad Pro competitor.

The 8-inch MediaPad M2 8.0 is just 7.8 mm thick with a metal chassis and FHD touchscreen. Apart from the tablet itself, the Huawei launch event also revealed some interesting details on the future marketing strategies of the Chinese manufacturer.

Vice President of sales for Xunwei Technologies Vincent Hsu hinted that the telecommunications giant has no current plans to compete directly against Apple's new 12.9-inch iPad Pro. Rather, Huawei will instead focus on creating tablets up to 10-inch in size only. Xunwei is the exclusive sales partner for Huawei in Asia.

"Seven and eight inches are already mainstream models based on data from market research firms and there are still many people buying 10-inch models," said Hsu during the MediaPad M2 8.0 launch event. Furthermore, Hsu has also seemingly confirmed that the Huawei will launch a 10-inch tablet before the end of the year.
