The already inexpensive Honor 5X just got even cheaper with a price drop of 30 Euros at various European outlets.

The mainstream Huawei Honor 5X is now only 200 Euros through most online dealers. Specifications include:

  • 5.5-inch IPS 1080p display
  • 1.5 GHz Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 SoC
  • 2 GB RAM
  • 16 GB eMMC w/ MicroSD support up to 128 GB
  • 3000 mAh battery
  • 13 MP rear + 5 MP front cameras

In our full review of the smartphone, we noted its high quality aluminum housing for a relatively inexpensive device with decent cameras and a fingerprint scanner included. The price is now even lower to make the Honor 5X a better deal.

Downsides include only average GPS reception and a low quality speaker. Battery life when under load could have been longer as well.

The Honor 5X recently made its official North American launch through Amazon after receiving a minor software update back in January of this year. The smartphone first launched in China back in Q4 2015 where Huawei is currently one of the largest manufacturers in the region.

There's a striking level of appreciation you gain for everyday consumer electronics after working with modern nuclear reactivity systems astonishingly powered by computers from the 80s.
