HTC to begin Puccini mass production in June
HTC Puccini, the 10.1” second tablet from HTC has been in news a lot of late, but mostly as rumors. It might be a reality after all, as Digitaimes reports that the tablet will see mass production staring next month.
The tablet is powered by a 1.5GHz MSM8660 processor and will run Honeycomb. Note that the Flyer also runs a 1.5GHz chip, although it has Gingerbread aka Android 2.3 instead of 3.0 which is more tablet-friendly.
HTC will get the 10.1” panels from AU Optronics and Wintek. Wintek stays common supplier between the Flyer and Puccini.
After the 7” Flyer was out and relatively well-received, it was only obvious for HTC to come up with a 10.1” version as these two are the most popular form-factors right now for tablets.
