HTC releases 6-minute promotional video for the Flyer

Teaser
The HTC Android device should make way to the market this summer

HTC releases a 6min promotional video for its first tablet called the Flyer, that tries to tell you how the tablet is different from others visually. There are a few add-ons here and there, like the digital pen input, but mostly it is your everyday 7” tablet. With a predictable 1024 x 600 pixels resolution, the 7” screen fits into the palm somehow. It is powered by a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor which should be the fastest in the Android tablet market as of now, 1GB RAM and 32GB of internal memory. The microSD slot and front facing video call camera are also not anything out of box that can be a sure winner against the likes of iPad 2 or the waves of advance tablets coming this year.

Nonetheless, there are a few features worth mentioning – like the beautiful unibody metal construction that gives the tablet a futuristic look and feel, but at the same time could makes it rather difficult to hold. The HTC Sense homepage looks fine with the round scrollable widget windows. The HTC Scribe technology helps you with digital pen input that can be helpful while drawing, selecting or marking text – or perhaps signing a digital form. The gadget supports both flash and HTML5 which I’ll take as an advantage over Apple’s new kid.

So although we are probably not looking at a device that will start a new era – there can be memorable moments with the Flyer, and if one can trust the video to be not overpromising – there is every reason you might want a date with this new toy.

There are no words on the pricing and exact availability date, but expect it to arrive sometimes in the middle of this year.
