If you are looking to buy a powerful machine that isn’t heavy, the HP Pavilion Plus 16 (ab0000) seems like a good choice. The device is light and thin for a 16-incher, and it has a pretty hefty cooling solution under the bonnet. This leads to adequate CPU clocks during long loads and to decent noise levels as well. The comfort during full system stress in “Performance” is good – the fans aren’t too loud and the keyboard doesn’t feel scorching hot to the touch. Oops, the NVMe gets toasty during benchmarking, despite the metal plate with a thermal pad on top of the SSD. On the other hand, the unit is snappy. The keyboard is good. It offers a backlight, a NumPad, and long key travel combined with clicky feedback. The touchpad is decently sized and it has a pleasantly smooth surface.

The HP Pavilion Plus 16 is a sleek and powerful laptop that offers a 16-inch screen, an Intel Core i7 processor, and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 GPU. The laptop can handle various tasks smoothly, such as photo and video editing, office and school projects, and gaming. However, it struggles to run some heavy games like FarCry. The laptop has a good display, sound, keyboard, trackpad, and webcam, but it lacks a fingerprint reader and a bright screen. It also tends to overheat and has a mediocre battery life. The laptop is a balanced and affordable choice for those who need a versatile device, but it is not very impressive in terms of performance and features. It is suitable for casual gamers and regular users, but not for hardcore gamers and professionals.

The HP Pavilion Plus 16 delivers powerful performance and a gorgeous display in a slim, professional chassis. Though battery life and speakers could be better, it’s an excellent productivity laptop that can also handle moderate gaming. For creatives seeking solid performance, a 16-inch screen, and an elegant design, the HP Pavilion Plus 16 is easy to recommend.

The HP Pavilion Plus 16 is an impressive blend of style and practicality, offering a sleek, modern design with a sturdy three-sided metal body and an aluminum display shell. It’s notably portable for a 16-inch laptop, balancing a large screen with ease of transport, making it ideal for those who value both a spacious workspace and mobility. Additionally, its environmentally conscious design, incorporating recycled aluminum, adds to its appeal. Performance-wise, the HP Pavilion Plus 16 provides good value for its price, especially when compared to pricier models like the Dell XPS 17 and Samsung Galaxy Book3 Ultra. While its RTX 3050 GPU and SSD speeds don’t match the higher performance of these more expensive laptops, they are sufficient for everyday tasks, casual gaming, and general multimedia use. This makes the HP Pavilion Plus 16 a solid choice for users seeking a well-rounded, budget-friendly laptop that doesn’t compromise on style or functionality.

The HP Pavilion Plus 16 has a lot of things going for it. It has pretty solid performance chops, thanks to a powerful combo of the Core i7 and the RTX 3050, as underpowered as it may be. Whether you’re using the laptop for your office work, or to game or consume content, the HP Pavilion slips into both of these roles with ease. When it comes to performance though, you really can’t complain. Not once during our tests did we feel that it needed more power. Are there other similarly priced laptops out there in the market that have better battery life than the Pavilion Plus 16? Yes. Do they perform as well as Pavilion Plus 16 and have as good a display? Not a chance. In plain terms, if you’re dialled into Windows and are looking for a dependable business laptop, that can pull off some 3D work, gaming and entertainment duties every now and then, the Pavilion Plus 16 is worth your consideration. It excels in its key strengths and, while it does have some minor drawbacks, they are unlikely to be deal-breakers for the majority of users.

There’s not much ENVY with the Pavilion Plus 16 (2023), but there’s clearly some good OMEN here. Pun aside, the HP Pavilion with the dedicated NVIDIA GPU, is a good choice if laptops with big screens are your thing. It’s not a laptop from HP’s OMEN gaming series, but there’s definitely a good amount of juice to run some demanding titles. Productivity-wise, the Pavilion Plus 16 borrows some features from mid-range HP ENVY laptops, for instance, good webcam and speakers. However, it skips the most important features from its ENVY siblings: long battery backup and fast charging. HP could have also taken greater advantage of the big build by adding some extra ports, like an SD card reader.

HP aims to tap into the burgeoning entry-level creator market with the Pavilion Plus 16. The Pavilion Plus 16 is among the few laptops to feature the RTX 3050 6 GB GPU along with a Core i7-13700H, 16 GB RAM, and a QHD+ 120 Hz IPS display. While decent in its own right, comparison with similar laptops shows HP could have minimized some of the compromises for an even more compelling ₹1,24,999 (US$1,350) proposition.
