Overall, there’s little to dislike about the EliteBook 840 G7. It’s not as feather-light as some rivals, and its battery could last a little longer, but apart from these quibbles, the device makes for a fantastic business companion. In fact, we would consider buying it ourselves, if it wasn’t for the hefty price tag. Nevertheless, you get what you pay for, and what you get here is a truly Elite experience.

There's a lot for IT departments and business execs alike to admire about the latest EliteBook 840. Excellent battery life, a stylish, compact exterior and a powerful Core i7 are among its many strengths. There are plenty of wireless and physical connection options, too, and the comfortable keyboard and touchpad should help you get through a long day at the office or working from home.

But all-in-all, this thing is nearly perfect. It has great speakers, an amazing keyboard, a solid anti-glare display, and a thin and light chassis. This model comes in at $2,199. You can find the EliteBook 840 G7 on HP.com here.

The HP EliteBook 840 G7 is a slim, light, decent performing laptop that is easily configurable for your business needs. It excels at business-oriented tasks, although it does tend to slow down once in a while when using more GPU-intensive apps like Photoshop or Lightroom.

Rarely do I review a laptop with as few shortcomings as the EliteBook 830 G7 and EliteBook 840 G7, and yet, I'm not entirely sold. Yes, these systems nail the basics, but they fail to stand out in any way. While they offer a sleek design, a good 1080p display, fast performance and decent battery life, the EliteBook 830 and 840 G7 don't do anything to separate themselves from the competition.

Unboxing HP's EliteBook 840 G7 with an Intel Core i7-10810U, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD, and 4G LTE. Update: The issue that I had with the OOBE on this unit was a known issue with Windows 10, and it's since been fixed. I haven't had any issues at all since I shot this video.

Here, we see another great product from HP. It has a great build quality and premium, lightweight chassis, thanks to the mainly aluminum build. And while its speakers are not the loudest out there, we found them deep, and they have better dynamics than most of the Windows laptops out there.

We've enjoyed our time with the EliteBook 840 G7. HP's svelte chassis offers stylish looks and high-end build quality, the keyboard and trackpad are among the best in the business - second only, perhaps, to Lenovo's ThinkPad - and both performance and battery life bode well for a full day's productivity.

14.00:
14 inch display size represents a middle ground between the small subnotebook formats and the screens of the standard 15 inch laptops.
The reason for the popularity of mid-sized displays is that this size is reasonably easy on the eyes, provides good resolutions with usable detail sizes, yet does not consume too much power and the devices can still be reasonably compact.
In the past, 14-inch devices were very rare, but now they are the standard for laptops after the 15-inchers.
