Google plans to include a native image editor in Chrome OS
Google Chrome has been more of a web browser type than a regular desktop OS as it runs mainly on web Based applications rather than installing and running desktop application. Though through these applications anything can be done with a high speed but a few limitations has also restricted this OS from delivering its capability to its terminal point. As web applications will only work with an internet connection, so a connection is a must for running an application which may not always be possible as during a flight, at far country side or in the subways.
Google has now developed an Image editor which will be native to the desktop. Developer François Beaufort has already described the process for downloading the code for the utility from the Chromium project, which is the open source development version of the Chrome operating system.
So now like some of the other company added applications like a file browser, music and video players - image editing will also be possible without a connection.
With all these additions Google chrome should soon be counted among regular Operating Systems.
