Google launches Taste Test home screen theme generator
Taste Test, Google's newly launched web based customization tool, walks users through a series of questions to help them choose the perfect home screen for their Android device. While Android prides itself on its level of customizability, this can often be a source of frustration for new users. With the myriad of aesthetic options new users face when setting up an Android phone for the first time, many resort to simply applying a new wallpaper and moving on. Taste Test changes this by asking users the following questions regarding their aesthetic preferences. Each question is accompanied by a picture to help users provide accurate responses.

Although some of these questions appear quite random, the tool returned with three themes this author found both tasteful and attractive. After selecting one of the three themes, the user is presented with links to download the corresponding wallpapers, icons, keyboard, and launcher. These download links lead to Google Play Store pages, allowing users to download the new look directly to their device. In less than five minutes, Android users can get an entirely new and unique theme for their device.
