Deal | Google Pixel 9 deal drops price of last-gen compact flagship phone by $254

Google has launched the Pixel 10 series in August 2025. While the entire lineup brings a handful of upgrades over their predecessors, the last-gen flagship phones are still worth a look, especially when they are on sale. Speaking of which, the base Pixel 9 has just seen a relatively generous $254.02 discount.

More specifically, the Obsidian Google Pixel 9 with 128 GB of storage is now available on Amazon for $544.98 instead of the regular $799. Per third-party trackers, this happens to be the record-low price for the compact phone on this marketplace, making it a good deal for those who are okay with using a last-gen device.

In our in-depth look at the Google Pixel 9, we found its screen to be pretty impressive for its tier. The 6.3-inch OLED display of this last-gen flagship phone comes with a 120 Hz refresh rate, which can offer smooth visuals, but it's worth noting that Google kept the dynamic refresh rate feature exclusive to the Pro variants last year.

We were also thoroughly impressed with the camera performance of the Pixel 9. In our tests, the phone could offer detailed captures in both regular and ultrawide modes. It currently holds the 4th spot on DxOMark's Premium phones list. However, the lack of a telephoto sensor makes the smartphone a little less versatile than the Pixel 10 in terms of photography.

The Tensor G4 SoC inside the Pixel 9 is still capable of smoothly handling day-to-day tasks, and Google has made a lot of AI-enhanced features available to the phone. However, it was way behind when compared to the last-gen flagship offering from Qualcomm.
