While Sony hasn’t officially announced their newest notebook line, it is well assumed that when they do it will be known as the S Series. Latest reports from European Vendors seem to confirm this and also fill us in and the high end features included.
If the info is true the higher-end SA edition will feature a Core i7-2620M, 4GB DDR3 Memory, an AMD HD 6630 graphics card, and a 128 GB dual SSD. Interestingly enough, the i7-2620M has a scheduled February 20th launch by Intel; so that may provide a clue as to when the SA will be released.
On the other hand, the tamer SB Notebook is built around the Core i5-2410M, an AMD HD 6470M graphics card, 4 GB of DDR3 and only a 500GB regular hard drive. Both Notebooks weigh close to 1.5kg, and feature a 13” screen with a 1600X900 resolution; unfortunately, the option for a Blu-Ray player doesn’t seem to be included.
As of yet the starting price for the SA series is close to $2,500 while the SB series should set you back by around $1,500. Unfortunately, an exact release date is not known, but it should come to light soon enough.
