Essential FIH-PM1 specs leak online
The Essential smartphone by Andy Rubin has been around for a while in the rumor mill, but it seems its official announcement is near. Back in December 2016, this handset was tested on Geekbench and GFXBench. However, only the Geekbench data surfaced so far. Now, the same Russian website that unveiled the Geekbench benchmark of the Essential handset returns with its details as they surfaced on GFXBench.
The smartphone known as Essential FIH-PM1 runs Android 7.0 "FIH Edition" and its name seems to confirm that Foxconn International Holdings is the company to manufacture it. The display size is expected to be around 5.5 inches, since the GFXBench displays the wrong screen size - 18 inches. However, the resolution of the display has an aspect ratio similar to the one of the LG G6 - 2,560X1,312 pixels and 80:41 ratio, while the display of the G6 has 82:41.
Leaving the display and operating system aside, we find the top-of-the-line Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor with Adreno 540 graphics, 4 GB RAM, only 16 GB internal storage (being an early prototype, we would not be surprised to see more storage space on the final product), and 8 MP front/12 MP back cameras.
Andy Rubin's Essential is expected to be unveiled in the coming months, so for now we should wait for more info to surface.
