Ekoore launches the Python S3 convertible

Teaser
The Python can run Windows, Android, Ubuntu, or all three

Italy's Ekoore has made a device that looks much like many other convertibles available on the market today. The Python S3 is a fairly plain looking 11.6-inch (1366 × 768) tablet that fits onto a keyboard dock which offers more ports and an extra battery.

What sets the Python apart is that it can run three major operating systems: Android 4.2, Ubuntu 13.4, or Windows 8. All three can be installed and the user can choose which to launch on start-up. It's certainly an intriguing idea, and one that takes the idea of a convertible one step farther by potentially condensing more devices into one.

The S3 runs on an Intel NM70 chipset with an Intel 847 Dual Core CPU and integrated Intel HD graphics. It's available with 2, 4, or 8 GB of RAM and 32, 64 or 128 GB internal memory.

Other features on the tablet portion include WiFi , optional 3G and GPS, Bluetooth, an accelerometer, a USB 2.0 port, an HDMI port, and a Micro SD slot. The Keyboard adds another two USB 2.0 ports and an Ethernet port.

The Python is currently only available in Italy, but will ship internationally to any location. Prices start at 599 Euros (US$770) for the tablet, while the keyboard dock is another 139 Euros (US$180).
