Dreame L10s Pro Ultra Heat comparison review: Robot vacuum with flagship features at a lower price
Dreame presented its new Dreame L10s Pro Ultra Heat vacuum and mopping robot (approx. 999 euros on Amazon) at CES 2024, which arrived in stores in this country a few weeks later. The somewhat awkward name explains one of the new features of the third model in the L10 Ultra series - compared to the L10s Ultra, it comes with hot water mop cleaning.
Additionally, the more affordable Dreame L10s Pro Ultra Heat inherits an exciting feature from the current flagship Dreame L20 Ultra (approx. 1,299 euros on Amazon): the extendable mop called MopExtend. Our test of the Dreame L10s Pro Ultra Heat reveals the benefits and how well the new model performs in practice.
Note The author of the original review was referring to the prices at Amazon.de, while interested users may find out that the prices of both models are equal at approximately 1380 euros at Amazon.com: Dreame L10s Pro Ultra Heat, Dreame L20 Ultra.

Dreame L10s Pro Ultra Heat offers MopExtend and obstacle detection
Before we go into the impressions from our practical test of the Dreame L10s Pro Ultra Heat and the differences to the manufacturer's other models, a few words and impressions about the features and scope of delivery.
The Dreame L10s Pro Ultra Heat offers almost all the features of the current top model, the Dreame L20 Ultra, as a glance at the comparison table below shows. These include MopExtend. This name refers to the fact that the Dreame L10s Pro Ultra Heat can move the right-hand mop (seen from behind) of the two rotating mops, which can be raised by 10.5 mm, outwards by a few centimeters. It sits flush with the housing and enables edge-to-edge wiping. Conventional robotic vacuum cleaners usually leave a few centimeters wide strip along furniture, skirting boards, etc. unmopped.
In addition to a very high suction power of 7,000 Pa, the Dreame L10s Pro Ultra Heat offers the laser navigation that is common today, which is supported by a series of sensors including an AI camera in the front. This recognizes obstacles and leaves a message in the app, including a photo of shoes and other items lying around.
Of course, the comprehensive cleaning station should not go unmentioned. Visually, the only difference is the bright gold cover in front of the dust bag instead of the silver cover on the L10s Ultra. Under the hood, however, there has been a further development.
The cleaning station of the Dreame L10s Pro Ultra Heat not only vacuums the dust container, enabling longer-term autonomous operation but also takes care of the mopping function. The two mops in the new model are now even washed with hot water. This was not yet the case with the L10s Ultra.
Dirt detection is also on board. They are then dried with warm air to prevent odors and germ formation. The station also automatically refills detergent and water, whereby the tanks for fresh and dirty water are larger (now at the same level as the L20 Ultra). The station also supplies the robot hoover with detergent for the mopping function via a small tank.

As can be clearly seen, the new Dreame L10s Pro Ultra Heat offers several improvements over the Dreame L10s Ultra and is hardly inferior to the more expensive Dreame L20 Ultra, in some cases even surpassing it.
By the way: The Dreame L10 Ultra (approx. 765 euros at Galaxus), which has been introduced in the meantime and has fewer features, has been deliberately omitted from the comparison for the sake of clarity. This model is a slimmed-down Dreame L10s Ultra without 3D and AI obstacle detection and automatic refilling of the cleaning solution.
How well the Dreame L10s Pro Ultra Heat performs in practice
The Dreame L10s Pro Ultra Heat took care of the floor cleaning in my home for a few weeks - and did a pretty good job. The functions promised by the manufacturer worked perfectly in the practical test.
The MopExtend function in particular ensures more thorough cleaning along skirting boards and furniture, but also near the chair legs, etc. This is because the robot doesn't just extend the right-hand mop along straight edges. This creates a gap between the two mops, which are otherwise close together. To avoid leaving an unclean strip, the robot later moves along this area again separately. There are three stages of the intensity of MopExtend use in the settings.
Navigation and obstacle detection mostly worked reliably in the test. There were no significant collisions, and it even recognized thin chair legs without any problems in most cases. However, the objects lying or standing in the way must be of a certain size. For example, it gets mercilessly tangled up in shoelaces lying around - but this is also the case with other models.
A practical feature is the fact that the robot uses its integrated camera to take a photo when it detects an obstacle and makes it available via the app. This allows you to see from a distance what is bothering or obstructing it. The camera can also be used to monitor your own home. For example, you can use the app to set the robot vacuum to automatically patrol your home when you are away.
The cleaning performance with its 7,000 Pa is good and is also sufficient for short-pile carpets. After work (or even during cleaning), it goes to the extensive station. This is not quite as chic as the Dreame L20 Ultra, but also offers comprehensive cleaning and maintenance of the robot. It is loud as usual when vacuuming, and also noisy when drying. However, this is also the case with all other competitors that offer the cleaning station.
Overall, the station makes work much easier, as the large dust bag and the two water containers for fresh and dirty water only need to be filled or emptied occasionally. It is even easier with the set for permanent installation on a water connection (approx. 200 euros on Amazon), which Dreame offers as an option.
A tip or small point of criticism: If the base station is unplugged, the robot vacuum loses its battery charge very quickly. After just over a day without a permanent power supply via the station, the fully charged battery was barely charged. If you unplug the base station to save power when it is not being used automatically, you should also make sure you switch the robot off completely.
Impressions of the app
The app offers many options for managing the robot vacuum. In addition to various settings for the cleaning performance (suction power, humidity, route, and more), it provides a comprehensive overview of the cleaning process and potential problem areas in the usual manner via the virtual map. Of course, the maps (which can also be saved for several floors) can be edited, e.g. to name individual rooms and create virtual boundaries.
Anyone who has already had a robot vacuum cleaner from Dreame or another manufacturer should quickly find their way around here. But even newcomers should have few problems thanks to the detailed explanations - neither during setup nor during use.
Pro
+ good suction power and navigation
+ reliable obstacle detection
+ thorough edge cleaning thanks to MopExtend
+ extensive cleaning station with hot water mop cleaning
+ app offers many possibilities
Contra
- sensitive white high-gloss design
- large space requirement of the station
Verdict: Is it worth buying the Dreame L10s Pro Ultra Heat?
According to the current recommended retail price, the new Dreame L10s Pro Ultra Heat is 200 euros more expensive than the Dreame L10s Ultra. However, it also offers several improvements, especially the more hygienic hot water cleaning and rimless mopping thanks to MopExtend. In my opinion, the extra cost is worth it.
However, the surcharge for the Dreame L20 Ultra is not worth it - unless the robot vacuum has to clean a lot of carpets and the 10 mm mop lift is not enough. In this case, the flagship L20 Ultra scores with its retractable mops, but otherwise has little more to offer.
999 euros according to the RRP is undoubtedly a proud price for a vacuum and mopping robot. In my opinion, however, the Dreame L10s Pro Ultra is well worth the money. It offers some exciting functions from even more expensive models and is overall a very well-equipped robot vacuum in the price range of up to 1,000 euros.
Price and availability of the Dreame L10s Pro Ultra Heat
The recommended retail price for the Dreame L10s Pro Ultra Heat is 999 euros. It is available from Amazon, MediaMarkt, Saturn, Cyberport, and Galaxus, among others.
