Discord will allow your channel and messages to appear on web pages
Discord wants people to find answers inside its public communities without having to join them first. A message posted in a public Discord community could soon turn up in a Google search. Discord is adding AI summaries and individual messages to its public server pages, letting people read discussions without joining.

Discord already lets people find and join public communities without an invite. But the guides and answers shared inside those servers have often been difficult to find through a web search. The company has now announced changes to its Discoverable Servers that will let summaries of public-channel discussions and individual messages appear on public web pages and in search results.

Discoverable server eligibility requires atleast 1000 members36

The changes apply to Discoverable Servers, the public communities listed in Server Discovery that have at least 1,000 members and are atleast eight weeks old. Discord says there are currently more than 63,000 of these servers, some of which already use Server Web Pages to introduce their communities before people join. From November 16, 2026, every Discoverable Server will have one, with Discord creating any missing pages using server profiles. The pages can also begin showing AI-generated Channel Summaries, giving visitors a recap of public discussions taking place from that date onwards. Private channels, private servers and direct messages are excluded.

Discoverable Community Server Badge

Starting in mid-December, Discord will gradually add members’ messages from participating public channels to its Server Web Pages alongside the summaries. People could then find those Discord pages through Google or other search engines and read the messages without joining the server. Only messages sent from that point onwards can appear. Posts will initially appear as text without usernames or avatars, with links back to the original conversations on Discord. Participating channels will display an icon and a notice near the header, letting members know before they post that their messages could appear on the web.

Server admins can disable both channel summaries as well as channel messages which are enabed by default

Public channels are included by default, but admins can select channels for summaries and individual messages separately under Server Settings > Web Presence. They can also switch either feature off entirely or remove a specific AI-generated summary without excluding the whole channel. Discord began rolling out these controls on October 27 for desktop and web, giving communities time to review their channels before the publishing features arrive. Disabling a feature stops new content from being added, but material already published may remain visible. To remove the Server Web Page itself, admins must disable Discoverability. The server then becomes an invite-only Community Server and is removed from Discord’s public directory.

Users can turn off their message discoverability from web pages by going in data and privacy section under settings

Members can also opt out using the “Show my message content from Discoverable channels on web pages” switch under User Settings > Data & Privacy on desktop or web. The switch covers every Discoverable Server they belong to, but it does not disable Channel Summaries, which remain under admin control. Messages sent while the setting was enabled can still appear later, even after it is turned off. Removing those posts from the public pages requires deleting the original messages in Discord. Search engines may retain cached copies, so removing a message from their results can take longer or require a separate removal request.

Whether members need to opt out depends on their account’s region. The setting is off by default in the EU/EEA, UK, Canada, Brazil, Australia and South Korea, which Discord attributes to legal restrictions. Members there must enable it before their individual messages can appear on the web. Elsewhere, sharing is enabled by default, so members must switch it off to prevent new messages from appearing publicly. These regional differences concern the default setting rather than how the feature works. Teen accounts cannot enable individual message sharing in any region until they reach adulthood.
