Claude faces another outage as errors hit multiple models

Anthropic is currently investigating elevated error rates affecting several Claude models. This isn't a new occurrence by any means for the AI platform — another string of outages also hit it earlier this month.
The incident was reported on August 24 at 05:06 UTC, according to Anthropic's status page. The company said it was investigating errors affecting Claude Mythos 5, Claude Fable 5, Claude Opus 5 and Claude Opus 4.8. The status page listed Claude, its API, Claude Code and Claude Cowork as experiencing partial outages at the time.
Additionally, Downdetector data shown at around 10:25 a.m. IST (4:55 a.m. UTC) also showed a sharp increase in user reports. Apart from that, Reddit users are reporting interrupted Claude Code workflows, including one user who said a nine-hour process had been disrupted for him because of this outage.

The outage follows several incidents in August. Anthropic's status history records degraded performance affecting multiple models on August 20, while August 19 saw problems with Opus 5 and Haiku 4.5. A bigger incident on August 18 affected multiple models — specifically Opus 5, which was impacted for slightly longer.
The company also recorded service disruptions on August 16, 14, 7 and 6, with August 6 being classified as a major outage. Most incidents affected Claude.ai, the API, Claude Code, Claude Cowork and the developer console.
We will update this article once services are restored and/or Anthropic posts any info regarding the same.
