Brand-new Panasonic Lumix mFT camera leaks with titanium design

Panasonic has not launched a camera with a Micro Four Thirds sensor aimed at photographers since the Lumix DC-G9 II in 2023, and is currently leaving this market to the OM Pen ($1,099 on Amazon). However, that could change soon, as the online store Kamera-Express has published several images of a camera that looks almost indistinguishable from the Lumix S9 full-frame camera, but is equipped with a smaller sensor in the 4:3 format.
The camera features a body in Panasonic's "Titanium" finish with a black faux leather covering, and clearly uses a Micro Four Thirds mount. There are only a few differences compared to the Lumix S9 – the control dial on the top is slightly taller, while the thumb grip on the back appears to be marginally smaller. Strangely, the lens release button is not located to the right of the mount, as is usual for Micro Four Thirds, but in the same position as on the Lumix S9, even though the pin on the mount is on the right as usual.
Not least for this reason, these images should still be viewed with caution – it cannot be ruled out that they were created using tools such as Photoshop. Nevertheless, this is the first indication that Panasonic could actually be working on a new Micro Four Thirds camera.
If these images are genuine, this camera could hit the market very soon, given that the images have already made their way to a retailer. Panasonic is planning a series of events to mark Lumix's 25th anniversary, taking place from November 17 to December 4, which could serve as launch events for this new camera.
