BMAX is offering a new mini PC, the B8 Power, which comes with an Intel Core i9-12900H. Introduced in 2022, this processor consists of 12 computing cores with a maximum clock frequency of 5 GHz. Although no longer cutting-edge, it is still a powerful chip that can get just about any task done. The B8 Power is currently only listed in a single configuration with 24 GB of RAM and an SSD with a capacity of 1 TB. A hard disk or SSD in 2.5-inch format can also be installed.
Extensive cooling is on board thanks to two heat pipes and a fan. How efficient this is in cooling the processor during demanding workloads, however, is unclear. Several screens, including high-resolution screens, can be used simultaneously, which also qualify the BMAX B8 Power for productive use. Specifically, there are two HDMI 2.1 ports and one USB-C port, which can output 4K material to a screen.
As is now commonplace, network connections are possible via WiFi, with WiFi 6 supported. Gigabit speed Ethernet is also available. Lastly, the 12.5 x 11.5 x 4.4 cm PC has two USB 3.2 and two USB 2.0 ports and an audio connection.
The PC can now be pre-ordered from Geekbuying at a price of €489. Although only available in continental Europe at present, it is likely to find its way to other countries at later dates. Other models, such as the BMAX B6 Power, are already available at Amazon.
