80% Asus ROG Zephyrus S
Source: PC Mag English
The Zephyrus S is among the most portable gaming laptops you can buy, but short battery life means you can't stray far from an outlet. On the charger, though, it's an attractive and capable high-end machine.

80% Asus ROG Zephyrus S GX531 review: Thin and stylish gaming prowess

The Zephyrus S GX531 is the pinnacle of the Asus ROG laptop line-up. It's beautiful and a joy to use – but the battery life means it's barely a portable machine and the asking price is fairly massive too.

Asus ROG Zephyrus S
Source: PC Mag English
The Zephyrus S is an even slimmer 2018 take on an already-sleek machine, pushing the gaming laptop to new levels of lean. It's spendy, though, so you have to be committed to maximum portability to swallow the trade-offs.

Asus ROG Zephyrus S GX531 initial review: The world’s thinnest gaming laptop... for now
Source: Pocket Lint English
The Zephyrus S GX531 is the pinnacle of the Asus ROG laptop line-up. It's not necessarily the best gaming laptop ever – some compromises will have been made, after all, to claim the title of "thinnest" – but it's an excellent balance of features, specs and design aesthetics.

Asus Zephyrus S GX531 (i7-8570H, GTX 1060 or 1070 Max-Q) – what to expect
Source: Ultrabook Review English
Each have their pros and cons: the MSI GS65 is more affordable than the competition, lighter as well, performs well with games and gets an excellent keyboard, but is not that well built. The Razer Blade 15 is excellently made, but is expensive, gets a rather unusual keyboard layout and doesn’t perform as well as the others. The Gigabyte Aero 15x is the best ultraportable gaming laptop of the moment, with simple looks, great build quality, solid performance and a huge battery, but is not available all around the world.

85.3% Asus RoG Zephyrus S GX531GM (i7-8750H, GTX 1060, SSD, FHD) Laptop Review | Notebookcheck
Asus wraps the technology of the Zephyrus S in a thin and compact case. The hardware is able to render every current game smoothly on the matte 144-Hz IPS display. The possibilities to upgrade the device are very limited.
80% Asus ROG Zephyrus S review: A big laptop that you’ll want to make room for
Source: It Pro English
There's no denying the Zephyrus S is supremely powerful - that's its main selling point and it comes in at a cheaper price point than both the XPS 15 and the MacBook Pro too. For the price, it's a solid choice if you're willing to deal with a few drawbacks.

ASUS ROG Zephyrus S (GX531) Review
Source: Yugatech English
The ASUS ROG Zephyrus S one hell of a sleek thin-and-light gaming notebook. It has a functional but beautiful design, hardware that can please both gamers and creatives, and portability that all desktop gaming PCs secretly envy. You do have to get past the keyboard & trackpad setup and somewhat lacking I/O, but once you do, you’re definitely in for a lot.

Asus Republic of Gamers Zephyrus S GX531 gaming notebook is the world’s slimmest gaming notebook
Source: Hitech Century English
Gaming notebooks aren’t usually considered to be the slimmest offerings around the block by virtue of their design that requires beefy graphics and the immense amounts of cooling needed to keep them ticking along nicely but the spanking new Asus Republic of Gamers Zephyrus S GX531 bucks that trend as it is not only a throughbred gaming laptop that can take on the best of them in the proverbial ring but it’s also, at this point in time, one of the thinnest gaming rigs on the planet.

ASUS ROG Zephyrus S Hands On: Pushing Through The Ultra-Slim Limits
Source: Lowyat.net English
While there hasn’t been any major updates in the Zephyrus S compared to its predecessors, the smaller (and dare we say, perfect) form factor has definitely renewed our interest in the series. However, there are also a few important questions left unanswered, such as battery life. But if there’s a chance to discover that the Zephyrus S is the perfect mobile gaming machine, then we’d like to take that chance.

Asus: ASUSTeK Computer Incorporated, a Taiwanese multinational company, produces motherboards, graphics cards, optical drives, PDAs, computer monitors, notebook computers, servers, networking products, mobile phones, computer cases, computer components, and computer cooling systems. The company's 2007 revenues reached US$6.9 billion. ASUS also produces components for other manufacturers. The Eee PC initiated the netbook boom in 2008.

In the notebook sector, Asus had a global market share of about 11% from 2014-2016, making it the fourth largest laptop manufacturer. In the smartphone sector, Asus is not among the Top 5 and has only a small market share (as of 2016).

These graphics cards are able to play the latest and most demanding games in high resolutions and full detail settings with enabled Anti-Aliasing.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 Max-Q: Efficient high end graphics card for thin and light laptops based on the same GP104 chip as the normal GTX 1070 for laptops but at slower clock speeds. Offers a approx. 15% lower performance but much lower power consumption. NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 (Laptop): The mobile GTX 1060 is based on the GP106 chip and offer 1280 shaders. Compared to the identically named desktop version it features a slightly lower clock rate. Games in Full HD and maximum details should run fluently on the card.» Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Graphics Cards and the corresponding Benchmark List.
Intel Core i7: The Intel Core i7 for laptops is based on the LG1156 Core i5/i7 CPU for desktops. The base clock speed of the CPUs is relatively low, but because of a huge Turbo mode, the cores can dynamically overclock to up to 3.2 GHz (920XM). Therefore, the CPU can be as fast as high clocked dual-core CPUs (using single threaded applications) but still offer the advantage of 4 cores. Because of the large TDP of 45 W / 55 W, the CPU is only intended for large laptops.

8750H: On Coffee Lake architecture based processor for big and heavy laptops. Integrates six processor cores clocked at 2.2 - 4.1 GHz (4 GHz with 4 cores, 3.9 GHz with 6 cores) that support HyperThreading. Manufactured in an improved 14nm process (14nm++).

2.1 kg:

Usually subnotebooks, ultrabooks and quite lightweight laptops with 12-16 inch display-diagonal weigh as much.

2.1 kg:

82.61%: This rating should be considered to be average. This is because the proportion of notebooks which have a higher rating is approximately equal to the proportion which have a lower rating.» Further information can be found in our Notebook Purchase Guide.
