Teaser
Five varying budget tablet models set for release between now and October

The upcoming budget lineup of Archos G9 tablets will begin availability in over 20,000 stores worldwide by early next week.

Prices and specifications of the tablets have been known since July, although the recent press release has revealed additional details. The two models, 80 G9 and 101 G9, will be available each with a built-in 250GB HDD paired with a 4GB SSD. “Turbo” variants of these will sport a dual-core 1.5GHz OMAP4 CPU instead of a slower dual-core 1GHz processor. Standalone 8GB and 16GB models will be for sale as well. All models, regardless of variants, will ship with Android 3.2 Honeycomb.

The 80 G9 8GB model will be available on September 20th through the official Archos website and September 30th on other online retailers such as Amazon, Newegg and Tiger Direct.

The “Turbo” models, ones with the faster CPU, will come later to stores and online outlets starting October. The tablets were recently showcased at the IFA 2011 expo.
