Archive.org versionWe’re a fan of its media capabilities, a surprisingly usable rear camera and for those who need an affordable dual-SIM device, this is undoubtedly one handset we’d strongly recommend. Assuming it makes the jump from KitKat to Android JellyBean, the 52 Platinum should stay relevant for a little longer and whilst it definitely isn’t for everyone, it’s unquestionable right for a very specific group of users. We just hope you’ve found our review.

Model: Simplistic, capable and affordable; the Archos 52 Platinum is a solid implementation of a smartphone. A good design doesn’t need to be fancy or flamboyant. The Archos 52 Platinum fits perfectly in the hand with its thin pebble-like shape and curved edges. At the back of the device is a nicely formed back cover with just the right amount of grip. The entire device comes in dark grey and the device is surrounded by a beautiful metal bezel. Display on the Archos 52 Platinum is a 5.25 inch HD IPS panel, which produces sharp images and good colors.
Hardware on the smartphone consists of a Mediatek MT6582 quad-core processor clocked at 1.3 GHz, 1 GB RAM, a Mali 400MP2 GPU and 8 GB of internal storage. The Android 4.4 KitKat system supports microSD cards up to 64 GB and comes with dual SIM function. There is an 8 MP primary camera with autofocus at the rear and a 2 MP front camera. Other features packed into the device are Bluetooth, A-GPS and a solid performing speaker. The Archos 52 Platinum comes with a lithium ion battery rated at 1750 mAh and weighs only 161 g.

These graphics cards are not suited for Windows 3D games. Office and Internet surfing however is possible.
