Apple discontinuing iWork.com staring July 31st

Teaser
Apple announces that it will discontinue iWork.com and urges its users to use iCloud instead

Just a month after shutting down the MobileMe services, Apple has now confirmed that its iWork.com project will be discontinued, too. This comes as no surprise as iWork.com never got passed the beta stages ever since it was launched in January, 2009. iWork.com is a service that enables users to directly share their iWork documents online from within Pages, Keynote, and Numbers.

Apple has also been urging its iWork.com users to sign up for iCloud for sharing documents between their desktops and iOS devices such as the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. In the article published on their support page, Apple had also included the necessary steps to download and save all documents shared on iWork.com to your desktop. Users should also remove any published links to the documents and embedded Keynote presentations from their websites before July 31, 2012.
