The Alpine A110 E-ternité prototype is an electric car with a removable roof. The company unveiled the EV on the 60th anniversary of the Alpine A110. Aside from the convertible roof and a bespoke rear deck, the car looks very similar to the original model.
The A110 E-ternité uses the same chassis as the latest production model of the car, using identical battery packs to the Renault Mégane E-Tech, but spaced for optimal weight distribution. Alpine suggests that the EV has a range of up to 261 miles (~420 km) on a single charge. The battery weighs 392 kg (~864 lbs), and the E-ternité weighs 1,378 kg (~3,038 lbs) overall.
The car uses the CMF-EV platform with a single rear-mounted motor, providing up to 239 bhp and 221 lb-ft of torque. The A110 E-ternité can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph (0 to 100 kph) in 4.5 seconds, with a top speed of 155 mph (~249 kph). The petrol dual-clutch automatic gearbox from the original A110 has been adapected for the electric powertrain.
It has not been officially confirmed that the E-ternité prototype will go on to become the pure-electric 2025 Alpine A110. However, the company has described the test model as a “rolling laboratory” that it will use to test new technology for its upcoming EV.
