Alleged Galaxy S9 retail box spotted online
After a long stream of rumors, Samsung recently confirmed the launch date of its next-gen flagship. Now, an image that shows what appears to be a Samsung Galaxy S9 retail box surfaced online, confirming some of the previous reports regarding the specs and features of this handset. Obviously, Samsung did not say anything about these technical details.
If you were wondering, you should know that the photo mentioned above was posted on Imgur earlier today. Behind the box, we can notice what appears to be a large package being prepared for shipping, and since the hand holding the Galaxy S9 box is wearing a protective glove, we should assume that the photo has been taken in a factory before sending away a batch of handsets, or maybe at the destination of such a package.
According to the photo mentioned above, these are the highlights of the Samsung Galaxy S9:
- 5.6-inch Quad HD+ sAMOLED Infinity Display (rounded corners measurements, or 5.8-inch for the full rectangle)
- Super Speed Dual Pixel 12 MP main camera with OIS and variable aperture (f/1.5-f/2.4)
- AKG-tuned stereo speakers
- IP68 rating
- Iris scanner
- 4 GB RAM
- 64 GB internal storage
- AKG-tuned earphones
- wireless charging (no pad included)
In addition to the above, there is also an 8 MP front camera for selfies, but that is nothing to brag about. At last, we should also mention that the processor is not specified anywhere, but we should not expect any surprises in this department.
One last detail worth being mentioned that many could miss is the destination of the Samsung Galaxy S9 in this box. In the lower part of the box, there are the codes of the countries where it will be sold. According to them, this is the European Galaxy S9 variant that will hit France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Hungary, Romania, Turkey, and so on.
