According to a Digitimes report, Taiwanese-based manufacturer Acer is considering a slide-out tablet PC launch for late 2011.
Details are scarce, but supply chain sources claim that the tablet will sport a 10-inch screen with an ARM-based CPU. This is in line with previous reports about major manufacturers jumping on board for notebook devices built around ARM cores.
Acer has recently reduced its tablet PC production forecast to 2.5 to 3 million units for the rest of 2011. Whether or not the company will decide to announce or even release the supposed slide-out tablet PC remains to be seen.

There's a striking level of appreciation you gain for everyday consumer electronics after working with modern nuclear reactivity systems astonishingly powered by computers from the 80s.
