The latest in the line of Acer's Iconia tablets is the Iconia Tab A700. After a number of cameos at trade shows, the 10-inch Iconia A700 is finally being launched and pre-ordering has started already  as of yesterday in the US and Canada. The tablet is priced at $449.99 for the 32GB model, and is claimed by Acer to offer a pixel density that is 55% better than those with a 1280 x 800 resolution.

Let's go through the specs:

The Acer Iconia A700 offers a 10.1-inch, 1920 x 1200 full HD display with 10-point multi-touch support, a contrast ratio of 800:1 and up-to 178 degrees of viewing angles. It also offers 32GB of internal storage along-with a pair of 5MP and 1MP cameras located at the back and front respectively.

Other specs include a microSD for further expansion up-to 64GB, micro USB, HDMI ports, GPS, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1 and a 9800mAh battery which Acer claims will offer up-to 10.5 hours of video playback and up-to 8 hours of web browsing. The tablet also offers Dolby Mobile 3 support and comes with Acer's Ring user interface. It weighs around 1.47 pounds.

With the release of the Iconia A700, Acer is set to compete for the market share enjoyed by the iPad. Compared to the iPad’s basic 16GB model, the Iconia A700 offers double the storage capacity and at a lesser price. PC World found the A700's display to be the best of all Acer tablets with crisp and detailed text, images and video. The Iconia A700 is available in two tons of black and silver. Packed with these incredible specs, along-with the storage capacity and the price tag, Acer Iconia A700 sure looks promising.
