AMD Fusion coming to Gateway’s newest budget laptop

Teaser
The new laptop can be bought for just $350

The AMD Fusion APU is finding itself in more laptops and netbooks as companies announce product lines with the new AMD platform. Acer subsidiary Gateway Inc., for example, is now ready to sell one of its first Fusion APU-based notebooks, the NV51B08u. Electronics store Best Buy has begun offering the laptop for $350, which is quite the bargain considering that this laptop will be a full-sized 15.6-inch notebook with a numpad and is not just an undersized netbook.

The Gateway NV51B08u will sport a single-core AMD C-50 1GHz processor with integrated Radeon HD 6250 graphics, 1366x768 resolution screen, 3GB of RAM, an HDMI port, a 320GB hard drive and Windows 7 Home Premium. The now typical 1.3MP webcam, 802.11n WiFi, DVD burner and media card reader will also be included. Best Buy claims a battery life of up to 4 hours and 42 minutes, which is not bad at all considering the screen size of the laptop.
